Note : Kancha kanchi is a public media. Its the first Nepalese magazine published in Melbourne. It is upholding and dignifying our community with the motto: Be inspired, feel connected.

    Our forthcoming Gazal competition will run in the following terms and conditions:
    Competition Title: “....................................Gazal Competition presented by Kancha Kanchi”
    1. Send us your Gazal (only one), it should be your own composed, not copied or borrowed.
    2. Gazal should be typed in Devanagari (Nepali) script. Gazal written in English or Roman Nepali are not eligible for participation.

    3. Any Nepalese can participate in this competition from anywhere around the globe.
    4. No topic, age, sex or education restrictions. But it should not be more than a page.
    5. The Gazal should reach us by 24 July (Tuesday) for qualifying entry with your passport size photo.
    6. All the competing Gazal will be published through facebook on 26 July (Tuesday) to 14 August (Tuesday). The album will be titled “.............................Gazal competition presented by Kancha Kanchi”.
    7. The Gazal’s published in the album will be shared to the public and the number of likes each Gazal receives will be counted as votes.
    8. Each Gazal will be presented in a page form designed with a picture with your name and photo.
    9. Besides the votes through likes in each Gazal, the votes from the jury will be also playing the dominant role.
    10. Personally the four judges will cast their secret votes for their best Gazal they select. A vote from each jury will be counted equivalent to 500 likes or votes.
    On the jury board we have;
    Mr. Rishi Acharya (Editor of Nepali Patra)
    Mr. Sujit Sigdel (Editor of Nepali Times)
    Mr. Nisprabh Saji (Editor of Satako Sahitya)
    Mr. Gokul Dhakal (Chief Editor of Kancha Kanchi)

    11. At the end, votes from public and judges will be counted, whichever receives the highest number of votes will be declared as the winner. For instance, 5100 likes +1 judge vote will be counted as ( 5100+ 500=5600) votes or 4600 likes+ 2 judges votes will be counted as (4600+500+500=5600) and vice versa.

    12. The First prize winning Gazal will receive AU $250.00 . The second prize winner will receive AU $150.00 respectively.( If the winner is not from Australia, s/he will receive the money in their own currency with the equivalent exchange rate).

    13. The result will be announced on August 16 (Thursday). The winning Gazals will be published in the Kancha Kanchi’s next coming issue with a short interview with the winners.
